Chief examiner for the APTI (Association of Professional TaeKwon-Do Instructors) is Master Ian Ferguson, a very experienced instructor with over 35 years experience. Ian was quoted in TKD magazine as being one of the most successful competition fighters ever! Ian is a former British all styles champion, a 7th Dan TaeKwon-Do black belt, and a former British, European and world ITF TaeKwon-Do champion, representing his country internationally for many years in countless open style martial arts and TaeKwon-Do tournaments, both point stop, semi-contact and full contact. Ian is perfectly aware of and understands the fears and anxieties that people may have, regarding violence and self defence; having had a frightening, violent and intimidating upbringing in children's homes. He has also worked as a doorman (including head doorman) for almost 10 years, and although know one has the answer to everything, I think it's fair to say he knows what he in talking about! He has produced hundreds of black belts many of which have gone on to become British and World champions and professional instructors themselves
