Chris Mutton I

My training in Taekwon-do began in 2007 at the age of 35 after initially looking for a club for my step son to join in order for him to learn self defence and also to help build his confidence levels, after only a couple of sessions i soon caught the TKD `bug`, i used to compete at boxing until my late teens (many moons ago) but had never really looked into martial arts (apart from a few karate lessons when i was 15), not only does the club have some exceptional instructors but probably has the friendliest and close knit group of people in a sporting body of any sort that i have ever been involved with, so attaining the rank of 1st Dan is very much the clubs achievement as well as my own.
Being a person with a slightly competitive nature i was thrilled when i found out that the club entered tournaments, i entered my first one after being with the club for only about 6 weeks, needless to say i was soundly beaten, my tournament was over very quickly but it gave me almost a thirst for doing it again, i am a great believer that to win you must first taste defeat and you learn more from being beaten than you do from winning, and with that in mind i have entered as many as i could since then, below is a list of my personal achievements in Taekwon-do
